Oceanic Whitetip Shark – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Oceanic Whitetip Shark:

The Oceanic Whitetip Shark is a large pelagic shark inhabiting tropical and warm temperate seas. Its stocky body is most notable for its long, white-tipped, rounded fins. This aggressive but slow-moving fish dominates feeding frenzies, and is a danger to shipwreck or air crash survivors. Recent studies show steeply declining populations because its large fins are highly valued as the chief ingredient of shark fin soup and, as with other shark species, the whitetip faces mounting fishing pressure throughout its range. These sharks are found globally in deep, open water, with a temperature greater than 64 °F (18 °C). The Oceanic Whitetip feeds mainly on pelagic cephalopods and bony fish. However, its diet can be far more varied and less selective—it is known to eat threadfins, stingrays, sea turtles, birds, gastropods, crustaceans, and mammalian carrion. Famed oceanographic researcher Jacques Cousteau described the oceanic whitetip as "the most dangerous of all sharks". Ochre Sea Stars – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Ochre Sea Stars:

The Ochre Sea Star - also called the Purple Sea Star - is a common starfish native to the rocky coastlines and intertidal zones of the northern Pacific Ocean. While most of the species are purple, color variations can include orange, yellow, red/brown and brown, depending on the location and temperature of the water. This species of starfish is carnivorous and feed on mussels. The Ochre Sea Star has five eyes located at the tips of the arms. They don't have vision, but these eyes are sensitive to light. These echinoderms are often exposed when the tide is low. They attach themselves to the rocks by way of their tube feet. These feet are used to keep the starfish in place and prevents them from being swept out by the massive wave action which are common within the intertidal zone.

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Olive Ridley Sea Turtle:

The Olive Ridley Sea Turtle - also called the Pacific Ridley Sea Turtle - is considered the most abundant sea turtle on the planet. These reptiles get their name from the coloring of their heart-shaped shell, which starts out gray but becomes olive green later in life. There may be more than one million in the world's oceans today. Olive Ridleys are mostly carnivorous, feeding on such creatures as jellyfish as well as small crustaceans such as crabs and shrimp. It is the only living species not considered to be endangered - although it is classified by the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources as vulnerable.
