Lemon Shark – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Lemon Shark:

Lemon Sharks - so called due to the pale yellow-brown coloring - are found mainly along the subtropical and tropical parts of the Atlantic and Pacific coasts of North and South America, and in and around the Pacific Islands. They are medium-sized sharks, usually about 8 to 10 ft (3.0 m). These fish prefer warm tropical waters, and are generally found at moderate depths along the sandy bottoms or in coral reefs, but they occasionally come into the shallows to look for prey. Unlike other sharks, this species does well in captivity and is often used to study shark behavior. Lemon sharks are often accompanied by remoras. Oceanic Whitetip Shark – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Oceanic Whitetip Shark:

The Oceanic Whitetip Shark is a large pelagic shark inhabiting tropical and warm temperate seas. Its stocky body is most notable for its long, white-tipped, rounded fins. This aggressive but slow-moving fish dominates feeding frenzies, and is a danger to shipwreck or air crash survivors. Recent studies show steeply declining populations because its large fins are highly valued as the chief ingredient of shark fin soup and, as with other shark species, the whitetip faces mounting fishing pressure throughout its range. These sharks are found globally in deep, open water, with a temperature greater than 64 °F (18 °C). The Oceanic Whitetip feeds mainly on pelagic cephalopods and bony fish. However, its diet can be far more varied and less selective—it is known to eat threadfins, stingrays, sea turtles, birds, gastropods, crustaceans, and mammalian carrion. Famed oceanographic researcher Jacques Cousteau described the oceanic whitetip as "the most dangerous of all sharks". Information about the Torpedo or Pacific Electric Ray:

The Torpedo Ray - also called the Pacific Electric Ray - is a member of the family of Torpedinidae. They are native to the coastal waters of the northeastern Pacific Ocean from Baja California to as far north as British Columbia in Canada. They are not large rays, but can grow to about 4.5 feet in length (1.4 meters) They are found in kelp forests, rocky reefs and sandy bottoms down to a depth of around 600 feet (200 meters) These rays feed on small fish like anchovies, herring, and the like. They will also eat octopus and other cephalopods, as well as crustaceans. As the name implies, they are able to deliver a sizable electric shock, and because of this divers are advised to keep their distance, especially at night when the rays are feeding.
