Santa Cruz Island Fox – Signed Fine Art Print
$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the Santa Cruz Island Fox:
The Santa Cruz Island Fox is one of four species of fox native to six of the eight Channel Islands off the coast of California. These foxes are all endangered or threatened, due to habitat destruction, introduction of non-native animals, and predation by Bald and Golden Eagles. These mammals are unique to the Channels Islands and live nowhere else on earth. Unlike other foxes, these canids have no natural predators so they can hunt during the day rather than the night.
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:
• Paper thickness: 10.3 mil
• Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²)
• Opacity: 94%
Fine art illustration of a Santa Cruz Island Fox (Urocyon littoralis santacruzae.) The illustration is available in black and white or color.
Artist’s notes:
The Santa Cruz Island Fox was completed in the summer/fall of 2015. I was gathering images for a collage of animals native to the Channel Islands (off the coast of California) and realized I needed to include the iconic and endangered Island Fox. The drawing is based on a photo by Morgan Ball and was used with permission.
