Information about the Gliding Treefrog:
The Gliding Frog is a species of frog in Hylidae family. It is found in the subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and intermittent freshwater marshes of Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Panama. The distinctive name comes the the frog's large toepads that, when extended outwards, can help control the descent of the frog helping it to "glide." This is especially helpful when the frog needs to avoid being caught by other tree dwelling predators such as snakes. The frog in not considered endangered, but it's numbers are declining due to habitat loss and climate change.
