Green-Winged Teal – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Green-Winged Teal:
The Green-Winged Teal - is the smallest of the dabbling ducks and member of the family Anatidae. It is a common and widely distributed bird native to nearly the entire continent of North America. Like many other ducks the males and females for much of the year look quite different, although in the non-breeding season the males and females tend to look more similar. The Green-Winged Teal prefers sheltered wetlands, such as bogs and swamps. They feed by "dabbling" for plant matter at or just below the surface of the water. This is a fairly noisy species, and the male has a very clear whistle, whereas the female has more of a muted quack.
