$19.95$27.95

Information about the Canadian Toad:

The Canadian Toad is a species of amphibian found in the prairie regions of central Canada south to parts of United States upper Mid-West. Its binominal name comes from the Latin words "bufonis" which means toad, and "hemiophrys" meaning the eyebrow. This name refers to the pronounced brow of the toad. The Canadian Toad possesses the typical toad traits; they do not have a tail or teeth, they have horizontal pupils and their dry skin is thick and bumpy. They are medium-sized toads, growing to about 2.25-3 inches long. The females grow a little larger than the males. To survive the long and cold winters, the toads enter a torpor state, where they burrow down very deep into the ground, creating small holes where they will be sheltered from the freezing temperatures, emerging in the spring to feed and seek mates. The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality: • Paper thickness: 10.3 mil • Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²) • Opacity: 94% Buy a Digital Download
