Prairie Rattlesnake – Signed Fine Art Print

Information about the Prairie Rattlesnake:

The Prairie Rattlesnake - also called the Western Rattlesnake or Plains Rattlesnake - is a venomous pit viper native to western United States, southwestern Canada, and northern Mexico. They usually grow to about 3.3 feet long (100 centimeters) although the largest one ever on record was nearly 5 five long. Because this species of snake occupies such a large range, it also can be found in various environments wherever prey is available. But generally as the name implies they are found on the prairies, usually in and around rocky outcroppings, hunting for small mammals such as mice, rats, squirrels and rabbits. They will also eat frogs and lizards, but usually only when they snake is a juvenile.
