Information about the Giant Anteater:
The Giant Anteater is the largest member of the Pilosa order, which is a group of placental mammals including sloths. These animals are found only in the Americas. It is the only species in the genus Myrmecophaga. Giant Anteaters are found in Central and South America from Honduras to the northern parts of Argentina. They can be found in various habitats, such as open grasslands as well as deciduous and tropical forests. The Giant Anteater uses it enormous and powerful front claws to to break open termite and ant mounds to feed. Their tongues can reach up to two feet (60 cm) in length.
