Giraffa giraffa
Southern Giraffe – Signed Fine Art Print
The Southern Giraffe - also called the Two-Horned Giraffe - is one of four species of giraffe native to the semi-arid savannah and savannah woodlands in Africa. There are two proposed subspecies - the Angolan giraffe (G. g. angolensis) and South African or Cape giraffe (G. g. giraffa.) Like all giraffes, they are herbivores, feeding on leaves, flowers, fruits and shoots of woody plants such as Acacia. As of 2020, their approximate population is composed of 44,500 individuals, and thanks to conservation programs their numbers are increasing.
