Information about the Holstein Cow:
Holstein Cows - also called Holstein-Friesian or Friesian Cattle - are a very common breed of cow found throughout the world, and is known as the highest production daily animal. The breed originated in Europe, thought to have been bred from cattle by the Batavians and Frisians, who settled in the Rhine area about 2,000 years ago. They are extremely productive animals, with registered animals accounting for more than 23,000 pounds of milk per year. Holsteins can either be black and white or brown and white. They are large animals, and when Holsteins are full of milk they can weigh 1,100-1,500 pounds.
