The American Green Treefrog is a species of New World treefrogs. It is a member of the genus Hyla. These lovely green amphibians are common throughout much of the southeastern wetlands of the United States. The coloration of these frogs can vary somewhat from bright yellow-olive to lime green. They are the official amphibian of Georgia and Louisiana. Despite climate change and habitat loss, these frogs are not considered. American Green Tree Frogs are insectivores, usually consuming flies, mosquitoes, and other small insects like crickets. These handsome little frogs make popular pets and do very well in captivity.
