The Channel Catfish is a large, freshwater catfish native to the streams, rivers, lakes and ponds of North America. It is extremely popular with anglers and an estimated eight million people fish for these animals in an average year (using various techniques such as "noodling" wherein the angler actually gets into the water using their hands as bait and grabbing the catfish by the mouth, trying to find them in their muddy crevices.) The species has been deliberately introduced into parts of Asia. The Channel Catfish is omnivorous and will eat nearly anything that it can digest.
