Red-Bellied Woodpecker – Signed Fine Art Print

Information about the Red-Bellied Woodpecker:

The Red-Bellied Woodpecker is a medium sized bird, native to the forests of the Mid-West and Eastern parts of North America. These birds like to hitch along branches and trunks of medium to large trees, quickly plucking at the bark looking for insects, which make up a large part of their diet. They will also eat seeds, acorns, nuts and fruits. They will also happily visit backyard bird feeders. When eating, Red-bellied Woodpeckers will sometimes wedge large nuts into the bark crevices, then drill them with their powerful beaks into smaller, more manageable pieces. They also use tight cavities in trees and fence posts to store food. Both sexes are similar in size, with a length of about 9.5 inches (24 cm), wingspan of 13–16.5 inches (33–42 cm) and weighing about 2–3.2 ounces (56–91 g.) The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality: • Paper thickness: 10.3 mil • Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²) • Opacity: 94% Buy a Digital Download
