The House Mouse is a small rodent that is often found in areas where human live. It often is responsible for the contamination and consumption of stored food. The species has been domesticated and is sometimes kept as pets called the "fancy mouse." This mouse is often used in laboratories and has been critical in the development of medicine and other scientific advances. House mice have an adult body length of 3.0–3.9 inches (7.5–10 centimeters) and a tail length of 2.0–3.9 inches (5–10 centimeters.) Their weight is usually about 0.4–0.9 ounces (10–25 grams.)
