Black-Footed Ferret – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Black-Footed Ferret:
The Black-Footed Ferret - also called the American Polecat or Prairie Dog Hunter - is a species of Mustelid native to the prairies of central North America. This ferret is notable as is it highly endangered and has come close to extinction, even once being declared extinct in 1979, and were not found again in the wild until 1987. But thanks to intense conservation and captive breeding programs this mammal had rebounded to about 1,000 mature animals born in the wild. The Black-Footed Ferret feed almost exclusively on prairie dogs, which make up over 90% of the animal's diet. A steep decline in the prairie dog's population is a large part of what resulted in the decline of this Mustelid. Fisher – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Fisher:
The Fisher is a member of the family Mustelidae. It is native to large areas of North America stretching from the East Coat to the West, including much of the northern boreal forests of Canada, parts of the upper New England Area and large areas of the Pacific Northwest. The Fisher is sometimes called a "Fisher Cat" but it is not a feline. Both sexes are similar in appearance, but the males are slightly larger - growing to an adult size of 35-47 inches (90-120 cm) and weighing about 8-13 pounds (2-2.5 kilograms.) The Fisher is one of the top predators in it's environment, and has little to fear from any other animals (apart from humans.) They are extremely agile, quick and intelligent and are opportunistic feeders, taking live prey such as small mammals, amphibians, reptiles, insect but will also feed on fruit, nuts and mushroom. They will even feed on carrion and road kill, such as deer and moose.
