The Blue Tit is a smaller-sized passerine bird native to much of Europe and western Asia. They are non-migratory resident songbirds, noted for their ability to hunt for food on the branches of trees, often hanging upside down. They feed on insects and spiders as well as plant matter such as seeds and berries. Blue Tits are generally about 4.7 inches long (12 centimeters) with a wingspan of 7.1 inches (18 centimeters) and weighs about 0.39 ounces (11 grams.) Both males and females are roughly the same size. There are nine recognized sub-species.
