The Orange-Spike Polycera is a nudibranch or sea slug, which are shell-less marine gastropod mollusks in the family Polyceridae. Members of this genus have non-retractile gills with accessory postero-lateral extra- branchial appendages. They are usually gray or white with black stripes down their bodies. Adults average about 25-30 mm long, but they can grow larger - up to 40 cm. Yellow orange dots occur on the lighter portion of the body. This species is native to the intertidal zones of the eastern Pacific Pacific Ocean, has been reported from Cape Arago, Oregon, USA, to Bahía Estero de Coyote (on the Punta Eugenia peninsula, just south of Bahía Tortugas), Baja California Sur, Mexico.
