Information about the Paluxysaurus:

Paluxysaurus was a species of Brachiosaur sauropod that lived roughly 95 to 112 million years ago in the Early Cretaceous period. This extinct dinosaur weighed an astonishing 20 tons, was 60 feet long and had a neck 26 feet long. It was originally categorized as Pleurocoelus, but in 2007, paleontologists re-identified the bones and footprints (left in the north and central parts of Texas) as Paluxysaurus Jonesi. The dinosaur is named for the town of Paluxy in Hood County and for the Paluxy River, which are both near the Jones Ranch site where the fossils of this species were discovered. Paluxysaurus Jonesi was designated as as the official state dinosaur of Texas in 1997.
