Fennec Fox – Signed Fine Art Print

Information about the Fennec Fox:

The Fennec Fox is a small nocturnal canid native to the Saharan Desert in Northern Africa. They live in dens that are dug out from the sands of the desert. Generally, the Fennec Fox weighs about 1.5–3.5 pounds (0.68–1.59 kg), with a body length of between 9–16 inches (24–41 cm). It is the smallest species of canid on earth. The light coloration of the fox, along with it's extremely large ears, helps keep the animal cool in the scorching hot desert where it lives. They, like all other foxes, are opportunistic feeders that will eat a large variety of prey, including rodents, insects, birds, and lizards. They are excellent jumpers, and can leap several times it's own body length in one bound. They are sometimes kept as pets, although it is illegal to do so in several countries. The Fennec Fox is the official nickname for the Algerian national football team.
