Information about the Wolf Eel:

The Wolf Eel is a member of the family Anarhichadidae together with the wolffishes of the genus Anarhichas. These fish can grow to be 80 inches long (203 centimeters) and weigh 40 pounds (18.6 kilograms) They're native to rocky reef-type habitats from the intertidal zone down to about 740 feet. They can be found in the Pacific Ocean from the Sea of Japan and the Aleutian Islands to nearly the entire coast of California. While they look fearsome, they're generally not dangerous and won't bite humans unless provoked. The Wolf Eel feeds on crustaceans, mollusks and sea urchins, which they're able to eat with help of their conical teeth in the front and strong pulverizing molars in back. The fish is sometime fished commercially and considered good eating to some. The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality: • Paper thickness: 10.3 mil • Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²) • Opacity: 94% Buy a Digital Download
