Information about the Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker:

The Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker is a medium sized woodpecker native to the forested areas of North America, Central America and the Caribbean. This bird measures about 7.1–8.7 inches long, (18–22 cm) with a wingspan of 13–16 inches (34–40 cm) and weighs 1.4–2.2 ounces (40–63 g.) As the name implies, these active bird drill holes into trees and feed upon the sap that leeches out through the holes. They will often choose a weak tree - perhaps one that has been ravaged by disease - and will use that tree to feed for several months, sometimes even years. They will also sometimes use these same trees to build their nests. The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality: • Paper thickness: 10.3 mil • Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²) • Opacity: 94% Buy a Digital Download
