The American Crocodile (Crocodylus acutus) is a large reptile native to ponds, coves, and creeks in mangrove swamps. They can be found in both brackish or saltwater areas. The range of this crocodile is from south Florida and the coasts of Mexico, through Central America down to the coasts Peru and Venezuela.
