Butterflies of Minnesota Poster
Minnesota is home to many species of butterflies, including the iconic Monarch (state butterfly) as well as fairly common species like Mourning Cloak and various types of Skippers, Swallowtails, and Fritillaries. All of these butterfly species are supported by specific host plants like milkweed, violets, nettles, and trees blossoms. Butterflies in Minnesota face a number of challenges, such as habitat loss and degradation of remaining habitat by pollution. But conservation efforts in the state focus on restoring native prairies and planting host species to help them thrive. For more information on Minnesota butterflies visit: Minnesota DNR, Minnesota Zoo, and iNaturalist as they offer guides, species lists, and identification tips.
The Butterflies of Minnesota poster features 20 different types of butterflies, complete with both common and scientific names and is shipped in a sturdy 2″ mailing tube with plastic endcaps. Poster can be signed or customized by the artist on request.
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:
• Paper thickness: 10.3 mil
• Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²)
• Opacity: 94%
