Dragonflies of the World Poster

Dragonflies are predatory insects with a three-stage life cycle: egg, nymph, and adult. These predatory insects are known for their exceptional flying abilities, allowing them to hover, fly backward, and reach high speeds, a trait supported by their powerful direct flight muscles and independent wing control. Adults are skilled aerial hunters that feed on smaller flying insects like mosquitoes and midges. Dragonfly larvae eat a variety of small aquatic creatures, with their diet including mosquito larvae, other aquatic insect larvae, worms, tadpoles, and even small fish.
