The Eastern Screech Owl (Megascops asio) is a small, stocky owl with a large head and short tail. They are 6 to 10 inches long with a wingspan of 19 to 24 inches. They feed on mammals, birds, earthworms, insects, crayfish, tadpoles, frogs and lizards.
