Spotted Hyena Poster

The Spotted Hyena (Crocuta crocuta) are native to several different environments in Sub-Saharan Africa, including savannas, grasslands, woodlands, forest edges and sub-deserts. These predators live in a society that is matriarchal with females being larger than males. The females use this size advantage to dominate them and control the clan. The Spotted hyena is the most common and wide-spread large carnivore in Africa.
