Giraffes are the world’s tallest land mammals, reaching heights of 14–19 feet (4.3–5.7 meters) and weighing up to 3,000 pounds. Native to African savannas and open woodlands, they use their long necks and 18-inch tongues to feed primarily on acacia leaves. They live in social groups, have a lifespan of 10–25 years in the wild, and are considered vulnerable.
