Southern Sea Otter Poster
Sea Otters are the largest member of the family Mustelidae. They inhabit temperate coastal waters with rocky or soft sediment ocean bottoms less than a mile from shore. Sea Otter fur is the densest of all mammals, with about 100,000 hairs per square inch. There are three recognized subspecies of Sea Otter: The Northern (Enhydra lutris kenyoni), The Southern (Enhydra lutris nereis) and The Russian or Asian (Enhydra lutris lutris.)
