Description

Octopus of the World Poster print

Octopuses are mollusks belonging to the class Cephalopoda. These marine invertebrates are intelligent and famous for their ability to change color, squeeze into tight spaces, and hunt. They have a soft body, a complex brain, and three hearts. Their diet primarily consists of crustaceans like crabs and lobsters, though they are capable of hunting larger prey. The largest is the Giant Pacific Octopus – which can weight up to 600 pounds (around 272kg) and has a 30 foot (around 9 meters) arm span, and the smallest is the star-sucker pygmy octopus which measures less than 1 inch long (2.5 cm)
