Songbird Posters
Songbirds, or passerine birds, are a vast group (over 5,000 species) defined by their perching feet (three toes forward, one back) and complex vocal organs (syrinx), allowing for elaborate songs used for territory and mating. These birds live in highly diverse habitats – including forests, deserts, mountains and even rural and urban environments. Songbirds are crucial to ecosystems and are an important indicator species. While there are millions of them, they remain threatened by habitat loss, making conservation efforts all the more important.
For more information on songbirds visit: National Audubon Society, SongBird Survival or Encyclopedia Britannica  as they offer guides, species lists, and identification tips.
