The Yellow-Headed gecko is a small arboreal lizard native to the tropical forests of Central and South America. It can grow to be about 2.7-3.5 inches long (69-90 mm.) This lizard is highly adaptable and has been introduced into other tropical and sub-tropical areas and established permanent populations. Like other geckos, it has no eyelid, and must use it's long tongue to keep it's eyeballs moistened. This is a very attractive species of gecko and it is sometimes kept as a pet. It does well in captivity and will become tame, taking food from the owners hand at times.
