Yellow-Headed Day Gecko – Signed Fine Art Print
$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the Yellow-Headed Gecko:
The Yellow-Headed gecko is a small arboreal lizard native to the tropical forests of Central and South America. It can grow to be about 2.7-3.5 inches long (69-90 mm.) This lizard is highly adaptable and has been introduced into other tropical and sub-tropical areas and established permanent populations. Like other geckos, it has no eyelid, and must use it’s long tongue to keep it’s eyeballs moistened. This is a very attractive species of gecko and it is sometimes kept as a pet. It does well in captivity and will become tame, taking food from the owners hand at times. It is not considered endangered.
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:
• Paper thickness: 10.3 mil
• Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²)
• Opacity: 94%

Artist’s notes:
The Yellow-Headed Day Gecko was completed on 3.23.2014. It rather amazed me that I hadn’t drawn a gecko for several years, as when I was first beginning to get serious about illustrating wildlife. Recently, I revisited a collage I had made of some gecko species, and thought it might need to be reworked some, with a few new species added. I haven’t decided if I have enough on hand now (I also completed a drawing of a Satanic Leaf-Tailed Gecko to go along with the existing gecko drawings.) The drawing is based on a photo by “CamStatic” on Flickr and was used with permission.
