The Japanese Robin (Erithacus akahige, formerly Luscinia akahige) - also called the Komadri - is a small songbird native to the forests of East Asia, Japan and on Ryukyu Island. Very little is known about this species, but it is believed to be part of the family Muscicapidae, which are of small passerine birds mostly restricted to the Old World (Europe, Africa and Asia).
