Information about the Mountain Zebras:

The Mountain Zebras is an endangered equine native to the mountain slopes, open grasslands, woodlands of south-western Angola, Namibia and South Africa. There are two known subspecies: the Harmann's Mountain Zebra and Cape Mountain Zebra (the drawing is of the Harmann's) but there is some discussion that these zebras should be considered to be separate species. These large horses have a body length (including heads) of 6.9 to 8.9 feet) (2.1 to 2.7 meters). Shoulder height ranges from 3.6-4.9 feet) (1.1 to 1.5 meters.) Weight is usually about 450-820 pounds (204 to 372 kilograms.) These animal were once common in their native areas, but due to habitat loss and poaching for their hides they are now considered vulnerable by conservation groups.
