Odocoileus hemionus
Mule Deer – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Mule Deer:
The Mule Deer lives in the western part of North America, generally the land west of the Missouri River. The name comes from the deer's large, mule-like ears. These deer prefer "edge" habitats where trees meet open grassy areas or meadows. They are rarely found very far from water or areas where they can feed. An adult male or "buck" generally grows to weigh from 150-300 pounds. The female "does" weigh less, on average about 100-175 pounds.
