Information about the Lark Bunting:

The Lark Bunting is medium-sized sparrow, and the only member of the genus Calamospiza. It is generally found in the Great Plains of North America, from central Canada southwards to most of Texas and into Mexico. The habitat they prefer is prairies, meadows, brushy areas sometime with sagebush and arid desert regions. Both sexes grow to about 5.5–7.1 inches in length (14–18 centimeters) with a wingspan of about 11 inches (28 centimeters) and weight 1.1–1.8 ounces ( 30–51 grams) When in breeding colors, the males are a dramatic black and brown with streaks of white on the wings and body. The females are notably more drab, being colored subdued shades of prey and brown and when not in breeding colors the males look much closer in appearance to the females. Snow Bunting – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Snow Bunting:

The Snow Bunting - sometimes called a "Snowflake" by locals - is a member of the family of passerine birds. The bird is located in the northern hemisphere with a circumpolar Arctic breeding range. They are about 5.9 inches long (15 cm) with a wingspan of 11.8 inches (30 cm) and weigh about 1.1-1.6 ounces (31-46 grams) These birds can endure extremely cold weather down to -22 F (-30 c) which is when the males head to the breeding grounds in early April. They are omnivorous and feed on both plant matter and insects. The Snow Buntings flock in large groups, which has been compared to a snowstorm. They also nest together in groups of 20-40 couples. Unlike other polar animals, the Snow Bunting is basically the same color year round, with only one molt that doesn't change it's appearance much.
