Arizona Tree Frog – Signed Fine Art Print
$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the Arizona Tree Frog:
The Arizona Tree Frog (Hyla wrightorum or Hyla eximia) is the state amphibian of Arizona. It is a small, arboreal frog native to the temperate forests, grasslands, marshes, and river areas of much of the central part of the state, from the Grand Canyon eastwards. They are not usually found too far from vernal pools or drainage areas where water can be found year round. Usually the frog grows no larger than 1.8 inches (4.6 centimeters) There are several areas where this amphibian is common and populations stable. Up until about 2003 the frog’s Latin name was Hyla eximia, however it was recognized as a separate species from Hyla eximia.
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:

Artist’s notes:
The Arizona Tree Frog was completed on 5.9.2012. This drawing is part of my ongoing project to draw all state animals (animals selected as the official species of their kind for the respective state of the USA. When I got to Arizona, I thought I’d have all species already drawn. Turns out I didn’t have the state amphibian, fish, insect or reptile (which I’ll be starting on after this.) The drawing is based on a photo by biologist Erika Velazquez.
