Bantam Chicken – Signed Fine Art Print
$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the Bantam Chicken:
Chickens are domesticated fowl, likely descended from the Red Junglefowl (Gallus gallus) They are one of the most widespread domestic animals in the world, with a total population estimated to be over 24 billion birds. They are kept and bred by humans mostly for food – both the chicken itself and the eggs they lay. In some areas, the animals are compelled to fight one another for the purposes of gambling. Evidence suggest that as far back as the 18th dynasty in Egypt (c. 1550-c. 1292 BCE) chickens were kept for these uses. Chickens are omnivorous, and will continually scratch at the dirt looking for insects, vegetable matter or will even eat small lizards or mice if they’re able to catch them. While they are considered flightless, chickens can get airborne for short distances.
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:

Artist’s notes:
The Bantam Chicken with chicks illustration was completed on 12.9.2013. The drawing is the final custom illustration of a large project commissioned by a software company in Georgia. The project is a mobile app designed for children. I had to decide how I wanted to render the chicken and chicks (there had to be chicks as was decided by the customer.) So, I simply scattered a few about the feet of the adult, hoping it would look as organic as if would take place on any farm around the world.
