Texas boasts over 400 butterfly species, the most of any U.S. state, due to its diverse ecoregions from deserts to forests, with key species including the iconic migrating Monarch, local favorites like the Phaon Crescent, and vital pollinators like the Queen butterfly. You can support them by planting native host/nectar plants (milkweed for Monarchs), avoiding pesticides, and creating habitat for these important pollinators.
