Crocodiles of the World Poster
Crocodiles are large, semiaquatic reptiles known for their powerful jaws, armored skin, and predatory nature. They are found in freshwater habitats such as rivers, lakes, wetlands in the Americas and Africa, as well as both freshwater and in saltwater in Asia, Oceania and Australia. They are distinguished from alligators by their V-shaped snouts and visible lower teeth when mouths are closed. These carnivores hunt fish, birds, and mammals, using their strong tails for swimming and ambushing prey.
They are formidable predators, with excellent night vision, strong sense of smell, hearing and eyesight. Crocodiles are some of the longest lived animals on earth, living up to 70 years in the wild and 100 in captivity. They are also some of the largest reptiles with the biggest being the Saltwater Crocodile.
