Eagles are large, powerful birds of prey from the family Accipitridae. These birds of prey are known for their hooked beaks, exceptional eyesight, and hunting prowess. There are over 60 species worldwide, primarily in Eurasia and Africa. The average eagle typically live 20–30+ years, weigh 8–14 pounds. They generally feed on fish, mammals, and carrion. Eagles mate for life, building massive nests (eyries) in tall trees or cliffs.
