Artist’s notes:
The Black-Capped Chickadee illustration was commissioned by Stackpole Books for Laura Erickson’s 101 Ways to Help Birds . The line art version was completed in 2005 and the digital tinting added in 2007. I have a pair of these birds that live in my yard. I love their distinctive chirping and their energetic way of hopping from branch to branch while looking about them.
