Blue-Footed Booby – Signed Fine Art Print
$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the Blue-Footed Booby:
The Blue-Footed Booby is a seabird native to the tropical and sub-tropical islands in the Pacific Island from Baja California south to the central part of South America and east to the Galapagos Islands. It is a member of the Sulidae, which are medium to large seabirds that use plunge-diving to catch their food, such as fish. The name “booby” comes from the word “bobo” which is Spanish for “stupid” or “fool.” They are well know for their very characteristic “dance” they do with their mates. The Booby is strictly a seabird, and only comes to land in order to lay eggs and raise their young.
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:
• Paper thickness: 10.3 mil
• Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²)
• Opacity: 94%

Artist’s notes:
The Blue-Footed Booby was completed on 5.12.2012. I had wanted to draw one of these wonderful birds for some time, but hadn’t gotten around to it. The opportunity arose when I was hired by a freelance designer, who was putting together a calendar for a promotional for the World Wildlife Fund. As the Blue-Footed Booby is such an iconic bird for the Galapagos Islands, I’ll be putting together a page with all the animals I’ve drawn so far that are endemic to the that area of the world.
