Artist’s notes:

The Blue Poison Dart is a ‘re-do’ from an earlier drawing. Poison darts have always been a favorite subject of mine, both to seek out (I basically went to Costa Rica to see some in the wild) as well as illustrate. Their colors are incredibly intense and lovely. The color blue in most animals, apart from some birds, is fairly rare for land animals. I don’t know of any other amphibians that have the same amount and intensity of blue as the appropriately named Dendrobates azureus
