Frogs of North America Poster

North American frogs are part of the diverse amphibian order Anura. Like all frogs, they are characterized by their moist skin, powerful hind legs for jumping, and reliance on water for reproduction. Common species are the American Bullfrog, the Green Frog, the Spring Peeper, and the many different types of Leopard Frog, Frogs undergo metamorphosis from aquatic tadpoles to land-dwelling adults. They have unique calls, diets, and adaptations for camouflage or defense depending on the species. Frogs like many other types of amphibians face threats from habitat loss and pollution.
