The Gila Monster (Heloderma suspectum) is a medium-sized venomous reptile native to arid regions in the southwestern United States and the northwestern Mexican state of Sonora. The Gila Monster is slow moving and not dangerous to humans, unless provoked. They spend much of their lives buried underground.
