All species of flying foxes feed on nectar, blossom, pollen, and fruit – which explains their limited tropical distribution.. They do not possess echolocation. Instead eyesight are very well-developed in flying foxes to locate food.

The Oakland Zoo has an amazing new enclosure with these large bats in it. They are truly incredible looking animals with intelligent and – dare I say – cute faces? I did some sketches of these bats and worked up the image from a photo a friend took.
