Fine art illustration of the Minneapolis Skyline.
Artist’s notes:
This drawing of the Minneapolis Skyline was completed in 1993. The idea for the “key” as the bottom came to me, as I realized I knew the names of only about 25% of the buildings. After I completed the drawing, I resolved to enter into each one, discover the name of the building, when it was completed and if possible who the architect was. This was years before 9/11, so in most cases I was granted access to the building, often allowed into areas normally off-limits to the public. And in most cases I was greeted with enthusiasm for the drawing and the project. As this drawing was completed nearly 20 years ago, some of the names of the buildings have changed, and other buildings have sprung up. But I still believe this to be an excellent representation of the lovely skyline of Minneapolis.
