Plains Zebra Poster
The Plains Zebra (Equus quagga) is wild equine native to the arid plains of of southern and eastern Africa south of the Sahara. These horses have exceptional hearing and use it to protect themselves and others in their herd. While still the most common species of zebra, they are considered “Near Threatened” due to declining populations caused by hunting for meat and skin, as well as habitat loss from agricultural fencing.
