The Red Lionfish (Pterois volitans) – also known as Firefish or Zebrafish – is venomous reef fish in the family Scorpaenidae, order Scorpaeniformes. It is native to the warm, tropical waters of the Indo-Pacific ocean. The fish has become one of the most ecologically damaging invasive species in the Western Atlantic and Caribbean.
